Statement of Faith
The Bible
Our beliefs are based solely on the Bible, which is God's infallible written Word. It consists of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe the Scriptures were uniquely and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and written without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the supreme and final authority in everything it teaches.
Doctrinal Unity and Freedom
We affirm the essential doctrines that have historically been held in common by true followers of Christ. Because of the specific calling of our ministry, we also value freedom in secondary matters of doctrine. We ask that any differing views be based solely on Scripture and that they never become a source of division or distraction from the work God has given us.
God
There is one true God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully God, sharing equally in all divine attributes and possessing personal identity.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the living Word, who became fully human through a miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and a virgin birth. He is both fully God and fully man, united in one person forever.
He lived a sinless life and chose to die on the cross as a substitute for sinners. His sacrifice satisfied God's justice and made salvation available to all who trust in Him alone. He rose from the dead in a glorified body, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father. He serves as the only mediator between God and humanity and continues to intercede for His people.
Humanity and Sin
Adam and Eve were created in God's image, but they sinned by disobeying Him. As a result, they were separated from God, and their fall brought all humanity under condemnation. Every person is born with a sinful nature and is unable to please God apart from spiritual renewal.
Salvation
Salvation is a gift of God's grace. It cannot be earned through good works, moral behavior, or religious practices. God grants His righteousness to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ alone. Those who believe are justified before God and declared righteous in His sight.
Believers can have assurance of their salvation from the moment they trust in Christ. This confidence does not come from personal achievement but from the testimony of the Holy Spirit and the promises found in Scripture.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit works to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply His saving work to individuals. He convicts people of sin, brings them to faith in Christ, and gives them new spiritual life. From the moment of salvation, He lives within every believer, sealing them until the day of redemption. His power, presence, and guidance are accessed through faith.
The Christian Life
Followers of Christ are called to live in the power of the Holy Spirit. This life produces spiritual fruit and resists the desires of the flesh. It brings glory to God and reflects the character of Christ.
The Church
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, which is made up of all people who have been united to Him through saving faith, both living and deceased. God calls His people to gather regularly for worship, to observe biblical ordinances, to grow through Scripture, and to encourage one another in love.
Life After Death
When a believer dies, they enter immediately into eternal and conscious fellowship with the Lord. They await the future resurrection of the body to everlasting joy and blessing. Those who die apart from Christ are separated from God and await the resurrection to final judgment and condemnation.
The Return of Christ
Jesus Christ will return to earth in person, in visible form, and in a physical body. His return will fulfill God's eternal plan and bring history to its appointed end.
The Great Commission
Jesus has commanded all believers to share the gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. Fulfilling this mission requires laying aside all personal and worldly ambitions in full commitment to the One who loved us and gave Himself for us.
